Kam Kam Dunes is a luxury camp in the heart of Erg Chebbi, the largest desert in Morocco, where you can stay and live adventures such as a camel ride or ride the dunes on a quad.
In short, it works like any other accommodation: you book and you come.
Whether you arrive driving a rented car, with an independent driver, or by public transport, it’s up to you, because the prices of moving around in Morocco are varied.
To help you understand the magnitude of the movement, imagine a “V” and place from left to right and from top to bottom: Marrakech, Fez, and at the lower vertex Kam Kam Dunes, in the Merzouga area.

How to get to Kam Kam Dunes

How long does it take to get from Marrakech and Fez to Kam Kam Dunes?
The route between Marrakech and Kam Kam Dunes takes about 10 hours and to Fez about 8 hours.

Are the routes to Kam Kam Dunes non-stop?
The trip between Fez and Kam Kam Dunes is usually done without stops, yes – well, logically technical stops are made, but not to stay overnight-.
On the other hand, the trip from Marrakech is another matter: if you wish, we can plan your trip from Marrakech in one go, but it is advisable to make a stop to sleep in Dades.
And if you go with children, elderly people, people with reduced mobility or you are simply a lover of slow traveling, we recommend you always stop.
If you decide on this option, we will book the accommodation on the way, don’t worry. To clarify your ideas and make a decision, the best thing to do is to take a look at all our tours and what follows.
What is and what does a tour organized by Kam Kam Dunes include?
Our tours are itineraries through the best of Morocco; they start and/or end in the imperial cities Marrakech or Fez, passing through Kam Kam Dunes and usually cover:
- Accommodation on the way between the main cities, including the stay at Kam Kam Dunes.

- Transfer from the airport to the Moroccan riad or hotel you have booked in the main cities.

What days are we closed?
Yes, we are also sometimes closed. Kam Kam closes its doors during the summer, that is, in July and August.
Honestly, it is very hot in summer and we don’t take advantage of it at all. Besides, this way we have a little break. Our favorite month to travel to the desert is (without a doubt) October. I’ll explain in a moment the 4 reasons to travel in October.
Is it possible to travel with children to the desert?
YEEEEEES. In fact, the children are usually the ones who have the best time. Besides, we always try to find activities that they like as well.
It is true that if you do a tour, it can be a bit long for children. I leave this answer for you to decide whether to travel with children to the desert.
